The International Diploma in Safety Engineering (IDSE) is assessed through two online open-book, scenario-based exams, designed to test practical application and critical thinking.
Exam Schedule
Examinations are conducted monthly on the 10th and 12th of each calendar month.
Assessment Format
- Two units, each assessed separately
- Each unit carries a total of 150 marks
- Passing mark: 75 marks (50%)
- Exams include a mix of long and short scenario questions
- Final score is calculated by combining marks from both sections
Grace Mark Policy
- Learners scoring 70 marks or above may receive 5 additional grace marks
- This accounts for subjectivity in marking and communication barriers
- The final result will be noted as 75* (grace applied)
Important Notes
- Each unit must be passed individually to successfully complete the diploma
- Results for each unit are issued separately

With a background in Communication and Electronics Engineering, I bring over a decade of experience in technical education, safety training, and vocational qualification delivery.
I am a proud CertIOSH member,
an approved NEBOSH trainer
and a Safety Engineering certified tutor.
